Now learn the ruling
Purification in ordinary language means cleanliness. In fiqh, it means removing a state or impurity that prevents certain acts of worship. For this reason, purification is directly connected to prayer. Hadath is a legal state that requires ritual purification. Minor hadath is removed by wudu, while major hadath requires ghusl. Khabath, on the other hand, means physical impurity present on the body, clothing or place, and it is removed by cleaning the affected area.
