The Qur'an directs believers to consume the wholesome provision Allah has granted them (2:172). The Prophet ﷺ taught that Allah is Good and accepts what is good, and he illustrated the danger of unlawful sustenance when describing a person making supplication while sustained by unlawful food and clothing (Sahih Muslim 1015). This hadith warns about an obstacle to acceptance; it does not give students authority to judge another person's inner status or pronounce a specific individual's prayers rejected.
Read the Arabic hadith slowly and understand its simple meaning. Ask: who reported it, where is it recorded, and what does it teach? The words of the Prophet ﷺ must be kept separate from a narrator's explanation and a teacher's own example. A short quote shared online may leave out something important. Look at the context before using it to judge another person. Try to explain the teaching in your own words, give a real example, and say when the example might need more care.
