Islam teaches respect for people's honour and discourages spying, backbiting and broadcasting their private mistakes. If a friend has made an ordinary personal error and is willing to correct it, we can advise privately rather than humiliating them. Sahih Muslim 2699a encourages concealing another Muslim's fault, while Qur'an 49:12 warns against suspicion, spying and backbiting.
Read the Arabic hadith slowly and understand its simple meaning. Ask: who reported it, where is it recorded, and what does it teach? The words of the Prophet ﷺ must be kept separate from a narrator's explanation and a teacher's own example. A short quote shared online may leave out something important. Look at the context before using it to judge another person. Try to explain the teaching in your own words, give a real example, and say when the example might need more care.
