The Prophet ﷺ taught that actions are judged by intentions. Two pupils may perform the same outward task, yet one sincerely wishes to help while another only wants praise. We cannot see every person’s inner intention or claim with certainty to know someone’s heart. The teaching asks each of us to examine our own purpose and to seek what pleases Allah.
Imagine cleaning a classroom. We should make the effort properly even if no camera records it. When a friend thanks us, that is pleasant, but we can still ask whether we would have helped without an audience. A good intention does not turn a forbidden act into a good one; sincere purpose and a lawful, responsible action must go together.
