Qist Maktab · Islamic Studies · Class 6
Sujood al-Sahw refers to prostrations connected to certain forgetful mistakes within Salah. It reminds us that people can forget and that Islamic law teaches ways to correct particular errors rather than treating every slip as the end of worship. Not every mistake has the same ruling; the type of omission or addition, the point at which it is remembered and the adopted juristic school matter.
In this lesson we practise identifying situations, not issuing instant legal judgements. For example, forgetting a required element may differ from merely doubting how many rak‘ahs were prayed. The teacher demonstrates when and how the relevant prostrations are made according to the school being taught. When confused in real prayer, ask rather than invent a procedure.
