Tayammum is a form of ritual purification taught by Allah for circumstances in which water is unavailable or its use would be genuinely harmful. It is not a shortcut chosen merely because we feel lazy or do not wish to wash. The Qur’an describes turning to clean earth and wiping the face and hands. This teaches us that worship remains connected to ease when there is a valid reason.
We should learn the procedure by watching a qualified teacher demonstrate it with appropriate clean material. Imagine a traveller with no usable water, or a person advised that water would worsen an illness; a teacher can explain what counts as a valid case and when tayammum ends. We also learn that the precise practical details differ somewhat between juristic schools.
