The teaching “Do not cause harm or return harm” gives us a broad principle for treating others. Harm may happen through actions, careless words, damaging property or unsafe online behaviour. We should not answer one wrong action by injuring another person. Prevention and peaceful repair are better than cycles of revenge.
Imagine two pupils disagree over a shared sports ball. Breaking the ball or publicly humiliating someone makes the problem worse. They can stop, explain the facts calmly and involve a trusted teacher. This principle helps us think ethically, while the exact legal judgement in complex cases belongs to trained scholars and relevant safety professionals.
