An essential part of fasting is knowing its limits. Deliberately eating or drinking during fasting hours invalidates the fast. Eating or drinking genuinely out of forgetfulness is different: the Prophet ﷺ taught that the person should complete the fast. A learner should tell the truth about what happened and consult a qualified teacher about detailed rulings.
Children also need to know that health comes first when there is genuine illness or danger: Islamic law has concessions for eligible people. Medical questions, travel and unusual cases should be discussed with a parent and qualified scholar; we should not guess rulings from social media. Correcting a mistake begins with calmness and learning.
