Qist Maktab · Islamic Studies · Class 5
After the Opening of Makkah, the Muslims faced an opposing force at Hunayn in 8 AH. The Qur’an recalls that some Muslims were impressed by their numbers, but numbers alone did not protect them from a sudden difficulty. The ranks became unsettled before the Muslims regrouped and the battle turned in their favour.
Hunayn teaches that success should not lead to self-confidence without humility. Proper preparation, steady leadership, prayer and trust in Allah belong together. We study the event through a respectful timeline rather than exciting or graphic battle pictures. We must not assume that a large group is automatically wise or right.
