Allah chose prophets to communicate His guidance to people. They were truthful in conveying revelation and trustworthy in the mission Allah gave them. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was known for honesty and keeping trusts. People should not confuse prophetic guidance with ordinary rumours or unverified stories.
Trustworthiness matters in our lives too. Returning a borrowed book, delivering a message accurately and admitting an error all help us practise honesty. We honour the prophets by learning their genuine teachings and imitating their noble conduct, without attributing fabricated quotations or stories to them.
