Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha are joyful Islamic occasions. Eid al-Fitr follows Ramadan; Eid al-Adha comes during the days of Hajj. Muslims remember Allah, attend the Eid prayer where appropriate, dress cleanly, greet one another and show gratitude for His blessings.
The joy of Eid should include people who are alone or have fewer resources. We must respect neighbours, avoid waste, keep public spaces clean and be kind to our relatives. The specific rulings of Eid prayer and related obligations should be learned from a qualified teacher according to the family’s practice.
