Du‘a is asking Allah for help and goodness; dhikr is remembering Him through words and awareness. We can turn to Allah in happiness and difficulty. We should ask for beneficial knowledge, forgiveness, safety and goodness for others, rather than limiting prayer only to material wishes.
Remembering Allah helps us pause before reacting angrily and renew our intention. We learn authentic supplications from the Qur’an and Sunnah, pronounce them carefully and understand their meaning. Du‘a goes together with effort: we ask for success and also complete our responsibilities.
