Dignity, Privacy and Reputation

People deserve protection from mockery, spying and baseless accusations. Privacy does not prevent responsible reporting of abuse.

Human dignity includes protection against humiliation, mockery, spying and false accusations. Privacy matters in families, schools and online spaces. Yet privacy should not become a shield for ongoing abuse; victims may need to tell trusted adults or authorities. Students should distinguish gossip, legitimate warning and responsible reporting. Respect for reputation requires checking claims before repeating them.

Think of a situation at school, home or online. Who might be affected, and what rights should be protected? Before deciding, check the facts. A good purpose does not make deception or humiliation acceptable. Compare two possible responses, choose the safer and fairer one, and explain why. Seek help from a trusted adult if someone faces serious harm.
