Qist Maktab · Islamic Studies · Class 8
Three major events close the Prophetic period. The opening of Makkah is generally dated to 8 AH. It brought the city under Muslim authority and is remembered for the end of major public opposition there. When studying it, distinguish the Qur'an's account of victory and repentance (Surah al-Nasr 110:1–3) from detailed episodes whose reports differ in strength. Do not invent speech quotations or broad claims of absolute uniform behaviour for every participant.
Learn the event as a clear story. Start with where and when it happened. Then ask what led to it, what the Prophet ﷺ and the people did, and what happened next. Put the main steps in time order. Some details are well supported by hadith, while others come from history books; do not give them all the same level of certainty. Avoid invented speeches or dramatic scenes. Finally, explain what the event teaches us about faith, fairness, leadership or care for others.
