The Prophet ﷺ linked Muslims who migrated from Makkah (Muhajirun) with Muslims who supported them in Madinah (Ansar). Brotherhood meant concrete duties of help, hospitality and economic support, not merely a slogan. Sahih al-Bukhari 3780 narrates the bond between 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf and Sa'd ibn al-Rabi' and illustrates generosity alongside independent effort to earn a living.
Learn the event as a clear story. Start with where and when it happened. Then ask what led to it, what the Prophet ﷺ and the people did, and what happened next. Put the main steps in time order. Some details are well supported by hadith, while others come from history books; do not give them all the same level of certainty. Avoid invented speeches or dramatic scenes. Finally, explain what the event teaches us about faith, fairness, leadership or care for others.
