An amanah is something entrusted to our care, including borrowed items, shared resources and promises about money. Respecting ownership means asking permission, returning a borrowed book on time and reporting a mistake rather than hiding it. Fairness also matters when school supplies belong to everyone: no one should secretly take more because the teacher is absent.
Imagine collecting a small class contribution for stationery. Two pupils record each amount, keep receipts and explain how the money was spent without publicly embarrassing classmates who could not contribute. If there is an error, we correct the record. Honest accounting is not distrust: it protects everyone, especially the person entrusted with the funds.
