In 2 AH, the young Muslim community in Madinah faced a powerful Quraysh force near Badr. The Muslims were fewer and had not set out expecting a major battle, but the situation changed and they had to respond.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ consulted his companions, organised the Muslims and turned to Allah in prayer. The Muslims were granted victory. The event taught them that success should lead to gratitude and humility, not pride.
