Religious plurality is the fact that communities hold competing claims about revelation and ultimate reality. Respectful coexistence is an ethical and social question, whereas the truth of mutually incompatible propositions is an epistemic question. Evaluate a claim by clarifying its meaning, evidence, transmission and interpretive method. In Islamic theology, reason establishes foundational questions while revelation supplies further knowledge; the authenticity and interpretation of that revelation must also be examined. Do not confuse disagreement with proof that all beliefs are equally true or equally false.
