According to the Hanafi school, wudu has four obligatory acts: washing the entire face, washing both arms including elbows, wiping at least one-quarter of the head, and washing both feet including ankles. Sunnah acts include beginning with the name of Allah, washing hands at the start, rinsing mouth and nose, and following the Prophet's manner. The legal minimum and complete recommended method should not be confused.
Learn each ruling in three steps: what we must do, when the rule applies, and what changes if we make a mistake. In Hanafi fiqh, fard, wajib and sunnah are different levels, so do not treat them as the same. A rule may also have conditions or exceptions. Look at the Qur'anic verse and the hadith, then see how Hanafi scholars explain the ruling. When solving a real problem, find out the facts first. Do not guess a legal answer from one short example. If you are unsure, ask a qualified teacher.
