A contingent (mumkin) being is one whose existence, considered in itself, is neither necessary nor impossible. A particular tree might never have grown; its existence is not guaranteed merely by understanding the word 'tree'. An impossible concept is different: a square circle is incoherent. A necessary existent does not depend on something else for existence.
This lesson asks us to think, not just memorise. First, write the main idea in one sentence. Next, look at the Qur'anic verse and the hadith reference. Then explain the idea using something familiar from daily life. A reason is stronger when we can say why it makes sense. If someone disagrees, listen carefully, find the exact point of disagreement, and answer politely. Do not pretend that a scientific description of how something happens answers every question about why it exists. Allah creates the world; science studies the steps and patterns we can observe.
