How do we know that a piece of information is trustworthy? Our senses help us observe the world, reason helps us compare claims and draw conclusions, and reliable reports tell us about events beyond our direct experience. Each source has strengths and limits. A photograph can be edited; a speaker can be mistaken; our first explanation might overlook important evidence.
Islam also teaches us through revelation: the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah. Revelation guides us especially about Allah, worship and the unseen, while observation and reasoning help us understand His creation and human responsibilities. When a quotation is attributed to the Prophet ﷺ, we seek its source rather than forwarding it merely because its message sounds attractive.
