Allah knows all things, has power over all things, and nothing takes place beyond His knowledge and will. We learn these attributes from revelation rather than imagining Allah as a larger version of a human being. Human knowledge can be incomplete and our ability is limited. Allah’s perfection is not measured by the limitations we experience.
Knowing that Allah is All-Knowing encourages honesty even when nobody is watching. Belief in His power gives hope in difficulty; belief in His will does not make us abandon planning or effort. When discussing divine attributes, use the Qur’anic wording respectfully, affirm what Allah has taught us and avoid drawing pictures or imagining a physical form.
