Sometimes two people share different claims about the same event. We should not decide merely because one message is exciting or frequently forwarded. Ask what the claim means, where it came from, whether the witness is reliable and what evidence can confirm it. Observation, careful reasoning and trustworthy reporting each have a place in seeking truth.
In matters of faith, authentic revelation guides us about realities that unaided observation cannot discover. We do not use unverified quotations as Qur'an or Hadith. Our responsible habit is to check first, ask a knowledgeable teacher when necessary and say, “We do not know yet,” when the evidence is insufficient.
