Brotherhood in Madinah

The Muslims who migrated from Makkah were called the Muhajirun. The Muslims of Madinah who welcomed and supported them were called the Ansar.

The Prophet ﷺ strengthened bonds of brotherhood between them. The Ansar shared support and resources, while the Muhajirun worked to rebuild their lives. This created a stronger community based on faith rather than tribe alone.
