The early Muslims were sometimes mocked, pressured and harmed because of their faith. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught them to remain patient and firm without giving up their belief.
Patience did not mean that the pain was easy. It meant continuing to trust Allah, avoid wrongdoing and keep doing what was right.
