Justice in Judgement and Testimony

A judge must hear evidence fairly; witnesses must avoid concealment and falsehood. Personal loyalty cannot justify unjust testimony.

By the end of this chapter, explain the central terms of Justice in Judgement and Testimony; distinguish the main claim from its supporting evidence; apply the concept to a relevant case; and identify an important limitation or misconception.

Hadith study: identify the wording and source, assess authenticity through scholarly methods, interpret the report in its context, and distinguish its ethical teaching from any technical legal ruling. Compare relevant narrations before drawing broad conclusions.

Read the cited text before applying it. Is it a Qur'anic verse, an authenticated Prophetic report, or a later explanation? State its teaching in your own words and give an example. An important subject may be introduced by a verse, but a verse alone should not be presented as a quoted Prophetic hadith.
